2nd round draw
Re: 2nd round draw
Bad draw in terms of location but 19th in league 2 - winnable
Re: 2nd round draw
Well, as expected, we get an absolutely awful 2nd round draw. Some things never change

Winnable game though. Think we can beat them.BeesKnees99 wrote: ↑05 Nov 2023, 14:38 Ugh, Newport away. Terrible draw.

Chance to test ourselves against FL opposition at least. Definitely winnable.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Winnable, but probably the single most unglamorous tie in a notoriously unglamorous roundjlay72 wrote:Winnable game though. Think we can beat them.BeesKnees99 wrote: ↑05 Nov 2023, 14:38 Ugh, Newport away. Terrible draw.

Re: 2nd round draw
Struggling crap team away. Second round is hard to get an easy one. So I fully expect us to beat them
Re: 2nd round draw
Away game in a foreign country. European tour beckons for many. I can't go but hope we get a decent number travelling.
I remember going there shortly after Chris East's passing and the warmth and kindness shown by those we encountered at Rodney Parade.
Hopefully we win and draw Everton away in round 3.

Not the most exciting of draws but we do have decent record there and like Ninestein said it chance to test ourselves against football league team
Also John Hunt you mean Dave parade.

Re: 2nd round draw
I suspect had I made a list of away opponents in order of preference, Newport would have been below half way down it. But they'd not have been bottom. It's just boring and a long way. But as others have said, it's winnable which at this stage is the important bit.
The one time I saw us play there, I was one of the 46 who saw a great Tuesday night away win. Hoping for a much better following this time but same end result.

Re: 2nd round draw
They've only been us 1 in 7 games apparently

Re: 2nd round draw
Newport also have some tough games coming up in the league. Will be interesting what their form will be when they meet us.
Re: 2nd round draw
Hardly the worst possible draw. Not the most exciting, but far better than Barrow, Morecombe, Fleetwood etc away. Newport is relatively easy to get to by road or rail and the ground is walkable from the station. I was watching the draw and thinking please not us for virtually every other home team pulled out. There's only about six league places in it, so it's a winnable game and in my view better than being drawn away to a conference rival or heading to the far north. Also, unlikely to be a TV game, so should be on the Saturday.BeesKnees99 wrote: ↑05 Nov 2023, 14:38 Ugh, Newport away. Terrible draw.

Could it potentially be covered by BBC Wales or S4C perhaps?pletch99 wrote: ↑05 Nov 2023, 16:30Hardly the worst possible draw.
