Why would we want to undermine the confidence and morale of players by having this debate at this stage of the season ?
I agree 100% Derek but some posters seem to think money is no object and we should just bring someone else in willy nilly. question was rhetorical rather than asking for an answer!
Maybe people think the FA Cup prize money is, or should be used, to strengthen the squad. We as mere supporters are not privy to that information. £41000 earned by beating Curzon Ashton and another £67000 should we best Newport.
If that money goes to strengthen the squad that’s great.
If it goes into TK’s back pocket that’s fine too considering how much he has forked out over the years.
Brian, he’s made £ millions out of his ownership of the Club over the years out of property obtained on the cheap at council tax payer expense.

But no, supporters shouldn’t expect the Club’s owner to spend more than the Club can support from revenues. We can’t rely on an individual sustaining the unsustainable if and when he decides to bail out.

Sorry I misunderstood and didn’t realise that a question, where Diarra and Granville were excluded, asking “who should we sacrifice” was rhetorical and didn’t ask anyone to give names as an answer !

What a load of bollocks. How about just accepting this was a shit subject to raise in this way, we all make mistakes, me more than most in this arena.
Agreed, won't say anything else on the subject.

Because this is a fans forum, which is all about discussion. If nobody started threads and topics for discussion this would be a quiet, boring place.

Lots of people on here with a self entitled arrogance, dismissing certain posters for having the cheek to start a topic of conversation on a forum.

I don't have self entitled arrogance, I know full well that my views are no more worthwhile than anybody else's. It just upset me that we lose to the league leaders and the response is to start a thread to discuss replacing our players.

Oh come in, that's ridiculous, discussing things like this is the very purpose of this forum! I doubt the players are reading it, and if they are - and are sensitive enough for it to have an impact - then they're probably in the wrong business!

Honestly, I never thought debating whether we need new recruits - and by association if we need to make room for them - would be vaguely controversial!

Shouldn't we always look to be improving the squad when finances and circumstances allow?

Sorry we're on the thread did I say we need to replace any player ? It said reinforcements. To add, to straighten what we already have, getting pissed off were some are reading something that just is not there. And the question was did we need anybody at all. And if so who did supporters feel would assist. In my minds eye this is what supporters forums are about.

On Saturday’s evidence we need a left-back.

I’ll never be convinced that Coker is better than Beard.

I'm not going to specify any player or position, but as a general observation we're a bit short on pace in the side, something that was badly exposed to day. Gateshead had several players that were really quick and we struggled against them defensively and I would say it also shows up in the transition. It's not the slowest side we've had in recent years by any means, but we don't have anyone with the pace to really hurt teams based on speed alone.

We need an upgrade in midfield. And we need a lwb. Coker and Beard are both not good enough for a promotion team. Kanu is our best wing back but wants to play further forward. Although he played there yesterday and was atrocious! Conundrum to solve on the left!

I thought Senior could play LWB? Worth a go?
Would rather strengthen medical team, as that's what DB has clearly hinted he feels he needs.

I think Kanu's best position in this system is LWB. You play him as a 10 and it's much easier to crowd him out and much harder to get him in 1vs1s where he can skin his man. I'm growing less and less fond of Coker but he and Beard should be sufficient cover. Don't think there's any point getting a RWB until we've given Cropper a chance and we have plenty of options in midfield, its just the right combinations haven't been picked in the last couple of games.
