(Near) Rivals

Post: # 367760Post Sam_BFC »

I'd can't say that this thread comes on the back of any widespread demand, but for me at least there is interest in hearing about events that take place in the wider context in which Barnet compete, as well as the opinions of those that are well informed about such developments and any implications for our club.

First off the press:
Ebbsfleet have sacked their manager
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/68129628

FA Trophy opponents Welling have also sacked their manager despite a good win at Hemel at the weekend. Comments on Twitter show some fan disapproval and suggestions of nepotism.

Come on Bees.

Big match tonight at Scunthorpe as they take on Tamworth. Attendance 5277.

Scunny 0 1 Tamworth. Tamworth now 12 points clear at the top of NLN although Scunny have two games in hand.

Come on Bees.
Ex-Braintree and Chelmsford boss Rod Stringer is Welling's new manager. He will be assisted by former Bees' loanee Kevin Watson.

And picked up a decent winning against high flying Hampton last night, with another big game Saturday at home to the team above them. Seems they might find form just before playing us after being cut adrift down the bottom.

Good idea, Sam_BFC. It fills a void left by BBC's coverage of the NL on their website.

Hoping Worthing can be second time lucky in the playoffs, convenient away day for me.

Didn’t realised they’d be promoted to league 2!

Substitute Crawley for Worthing to keep that convenience!

Surprised Kutrieb lasted as long as he did, thought when we played them in December a lot to do to not finish in the bottom 4 and with a manager not willing to sacrifice any principles an instant return ala Maidstone I was expecting, However, a decent budget for whoever goes in there.

Danny Bloor was done the dirty by Welling Utd, great man to know, always willing to do an interview but none of their fans seemed at all happy he's gone, plenty off the field not right there.
Great win for them Tuesday night vs Hampton, pleased to Kevin Watson back in the game, another I know well shame it's not under better circumstances.

And am I right that Watson was interviewed for the Bees job around the time of Beadle and/or Flowers?

Solihull have lost their key man, Josh Kelly, today to Wimbledon. Could play a big factor in the remainder of their season. Bromley made 2 great signings today.

Shocked to just notice Woking are second bottom. What’s gone wrong there?

Sarll bought a bunch of expensive perma-crocks in close-season. That’s why.
