Re: (Near) Rivals
Nope not worried, Before the weekend (just gone ) games If you said come Tuesday night we would be 11 pints ahead with 21 points left to play I would have taken that.
Re: (Near) Rivals
Unless they drop points before the 5th looking like we’ll win it without playing as such. Wealdstone and fylde two winnable games, if they took 6 from that they’d be playing twice before we were playing again and only way they stay in it is to take maximum points (this is assuming we take maximum points as well)

Yeah makes no sense. If anything York picking up form means we are more likely to win it on the pitch. Only situation I can think of when we would win it off the pitch is if they lost to Gateshead in the early KO when we play late.Berlinbee wrote: ↑25 Mar 2025, 21:17confused by thisBeeArmy22 wrote: ↑25 Mar 2025, 21:15 Unless they drop points before the 5th looking like we’ll win it without playing as such. If we take max points and they take max points we win it against Eastleigh after our match
If we take max points until Wealdstone (12:30ko), we need York to win that day at 17:30 and on Saturday at 12:30 before we then play at 17:30. Very plausible they drop points in one of those 2 games, which would hand us the title.

Re: (Near) Rivals
There’s good reasons why Gateshead are in the form they currently are in and there’s no reason why they will bounce back any point soon. Defensively they look all over the shop in their last few matches and we should be able to fully exploit that.Berlinbee wrote: ↑25 Mar 2025, 21:08Not worried, but lose to Gateshead (who really do need to bounce back) and there could be a little glance over out shoulders and pressure to deal with
It sounds like we’ll have a full squad to choose from on Saturday too, so there’s no need to think up of things to worry about.
Re: (Near) Rivals
Playing without pressure probably. Hinshelwood "conceding" the title is probably the best thing he could have done for them.gowerfan wrote:Have to say York look very impressive tonight
Weirdstone for them next. They look poor. Aldershot have figured out you just need to shoot from distance and they crumble. They've turned around 1-0 in to 1-3.

Re: (Near) Rivals
Hinshelwood said York should stop worrying about Barnet and just play they way the can and they'd go into the play-offs confidently (para phrasing). A bit of mind games maybe. We must get over confident. It's not over yet.

Agree it’s mind games they have nothing to lose, Brennan will be on it. Can’t take anything for granted.

Yea the lots of Ifs and butts but there is good chance we could be promoted when not inside the ground.
Re: (Near) Rivals
Calm down everyone!! It’s too late for York to start showing some form now! It’s done! - we ARE going up! It’s just a matter of which match it occurs, and don’t get yourselves too wound up on all the permutations !
Re: (Near) Rivals
More the fact that it’ll be a bit depressing we find out we’re up on the telly (that’s not to say I won’t be absolutely ecstatic either way)
Re: (Near) Rivals
Brennan wants 100 points. I reckoned that was his target this season in post a few weeks back. He has confirmed this himself nowCrawleyBee wrote: ↑25 Mar 2025, 21:31Agree it’s mind games they have nothing to lose, Brennan will be on it. Can’t take anything for granted.
