The WFT are absolute heroes!!! to do something like this, that is probably the highlight of someone's week or month having them attend to help and put on classes, as well as everything else they do in the community is fantastic a real credit to the club I hope they are held in the highest regard internally and nationally they deserve some form of award, bravo to all of them.
Re: Dementia friendly walking football
Well done Kevin and the WFT, great work.

Thank you it is an emotional experience both exhilarating and draining ! We help the carer have a break , going off with the team playing basketball or other sports in the hall whilst we play soft ball games etc with the dementia members
I was given the funding for 1 year by the Middlesex. Fa and we hope it will be renewed

What a great initiative. I read yesterday that the Arsenal Community Hub do WFT sessions for people with Parkinson’s and they make a huge difference to the people who take part. It is brilliant to see Barnet WFT doing something similar for people with dementia. Well done to everyone concerned.

Yes arsenal do an amazing job they have the finances to have their own health and well being officers .. as you can imagine our walking football team is not quite in that world , I received a fixed amount from the Middlesex Fa , and partnered with dementia club Uk barnet , we looked for a venue we could afford and Copthall leisure centre stepped up to the mark …
