Must agree, when I read on clubs Twitter account that the players awards were going to be held after today's game I found this very strange, cannot remember the date we normally do this, but with so much still at stake including the play offs why now and not after the Kiddiminster game on the 20th April.it's not like we would have trouble booking the venue.
Same reason last season's doo took place on easter monday not after last game - there may be a game on the tuesday after that Kidderminster game that the players and staff would rather be planning for so less of a distraction having it today.

The ref seemed to lose control late in the first half, Oxford were adamant there was a push in the build up to our first goal, I'd need to see it again but their players and bench went mad, then there was a foul that wasn't given in added time which again incensed Oxford and led to more bookings. Second half I guess the stall was set out so she carried on in a similar manor but surely with some of the decisions she needed help from the assistants, Dean and Connor also went mental during the second half and I see DB has said post match about the officiating which hopefully doesn't land him in trouble as we need him on the touchline, let's hope she doesn't get given one of our play off games and comes back a better referee after today's performance.

Good result. I thought the referee did a great job. Clamped down on dissent and got most of decisions right - the lineo should have flagged for a penalty. The lineo nearest Legends a good first half and lousy second.

The starting lineup suggested a Dorking type performance though Oxford city were more disciplined. Brunt played a big part in the forward thinking dynamic vs Dorking and Freeman does not have the energy level however good his touch may be - Brunt coming on provided that impetus.

Another great finish from O'Donkor and it's too easy to take Nicke for granted - he was desperate to score especially as was not the first scorer.

Another fantastic performance from Gorman - keeps that ball moving forward but needs to be careful with the niggly fouls / squaring up as could have easily got a 2nd yellow today.

A secure defensive performance - Coker sometimes takes too many touches before despatching a delivery but was better today.

One more win should see us to a top 3 finish.

Great effort by all in the Supporters Association to arrange player of the season awards. Hartigan and O'Donkor would be great signings in the close season.

As for the game it was never going to be Dorking mark 2, for me freeman is not suited to being in a midfield 3, cropper struggled to make an impact early on but grew into the game, brunts introduction and the switch to 3 at the back made the game safe. We're nearly there though typically maidenhead have picked up as usual late in the season but hopefully a better performance from us this season than last time around this time last year and we can eek out a win so less pressure on the Bromley game. Last thing gorman was fabulous again today, what an asset DB had moulded him into, thanks Yeovil.

Could some kind soul tell us who won what awards this afternoon?

Pluses : 3 points, Brunt’s cameo, Keeleys sweeping, captain Gorman, Nicki and Kanu, Pritch and Wynter training tomorrow

Disappointing : Freeman got caught in possession didn’t look sharp, thought GO’D looked tired, no clean sheet.

Good day at the office. Getting close…..

GO’D did look tired but took his chance superbly. The sort of player I’d love us to develop a la Mason-Clarke, but can’t see us holding onto him come season’s end.

Thanks!
Hartigan’s free-kick at Dorking got Goal of the Season with Brunt’s second against Woking and Kanu’s against Maidenhead finishing second and third respectively.

O'Donkor doesn't have all the tricks of the trade that Kabamba does yet but he's an excellent finisher and has the pace and strength to become a really good all round striker.

That said, I imagine Oxford will want him playing every week somewhere next year (if not keeping him in their squad) and with Kabamba and Stead I don't think we can promise that.

Didn't look like a penalty to me. Our player (Collinge?) ran straight into theirs. No reason why the defender should get out of the way.

Presumably Fylde v Gateshead will have to be played tomorrow or Wed to avoid Gateshead playing 3 times in the final week?
Gateshead max points 84 so we need 7 more as their gd will likely be better than ours with 5 wins. Bromley max points 86.
Final game of the season is Gateshead v Bromley so they cannot both achieve those maximum points - so 84 points would guarantee top 3 I think?

with the penalty decision the linesman on the near side had a perfect clear view and should have been waving his flag to signal a penalty so it was as much his fault as it was the reff. as for the handball, how the reff did not see it looking straight at the player i don`t know.
Still another 3 points nearer the play offs, well done on the win.
