Re: Halifax
Well hopefully a decision will be made before the Saturday of our game and then they can find another venue near by.
Re: Halifax
Their match with York has gone ahead tonight.
0-0 early in the 2nd half
EDIT: York now 1-0 up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that would guarantee us a top 7 finish?

Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!
Re: Halifax
I’d rather they win tbh - keep Southend from nicking that 7th spot. Aldershot & Halifax fans not confident of gaining it from what I’ve read for various reasons (although they don’t need to do much to prevent Southend getting in).
Ooo 1-1 now as I was typing!

Re: Halifax
Finished 1-1 very late equaliser for Halifax.

Re: Halifax
Halifax can only catch us on goal difference needing a 21 goal swing!
Re: Halifax
Aldershot need 4 from 4 to keep Sarfend out of top 7, should do it looking at their run in.
Re: Halifax
Southend got more pressing concerns than 7th place by the sound of it

I'm sorry, some of us never use cash and don't feel safe about carrying it around. Fair enough for those who want to use cash but i.m.o. it shouldn't be compulsory.letchbee94 wrote: ↑03 Apr 2024, 19:55 Cash is king.
Well done Halifax.

Out of interest what is your opinion on stadiums/grounds making cashless compulsory?becbee wrote: ↑03 Apr 2024, 20:06I'm sorry, some of us never use cash and don't feel safe about carrying it around. As someone who worked in a betting shop back in the days when no one used cards - it was horrendous. Ferrying thousands of pounds to the bank during the day and sitting there alone at 9pm wondering if the man in the hoodie who has just walked in was going to rob the place. The move to a cashless society has no doubt made people safer - and yes, I would say that older people coping with having to use cards is a price worth paying for that.becbee wrote: ↑03 Apr 2024, 20:06I'm sorry, some of us never use cash and don't feel safe about carrying it around. With many football clubs having a rather relaxed approach to the taxman, I don't think any club should be able to insist on cash only and compete in any league where money changes hands.
It also amazes me when I see people thinking that "cash only" venues as something to be celebrated as they are somehow sticking one on the men in suits, when it is clear that a lot of these venues are obviously avoiding tax and are just ripping off the public purse.
Re: Halifax
i prefer to use cash but live in a town with no banks and several 'dodgy' cash machines so have come around to the idea of using card but the stupid £100 contactless limit scares me if someone got hold of my card! was a lot more comfortable when it was £30!
Re: Halifax
Better not have Apply Pay set up then! I lost my card recently, and there was a transaction that came out at 3am that I was asleep for. When I reported the card lost, the bank asked me about it, and when I said it wasn't mine, they immediately refunded it, no questions asked.
It was only when I checked my transactions a week or so later I realised it was a direct debit I had set up that just left my account overnight!
