Maidenhead travel

Post: # 372541Post John Hunt »

Is a possible rare game for me.

Can you get there directly from Tottenham Court Road on the Elizabethan Line?

Can you tap in and tap out at Maidenhead Station?

thanks in advance

You can get there directly from Tottenham Court Road.
You cannot use Oyster or contactless to tap out there.
Edit: I defer to Beebot on the second point here.

You can, unless the rules have changed very recently!

Edit: you can use contactless but not Oyster.

You can't use Oyster but can use a bank card to tap in and out.

And unless I’m misreading things if you have a Freedom Pass you get there for nothing, nada, zip!

Maybe you can do a soft shoe shuffle instead.

You are misreading things! You need to pay for travel west of West Drayton.

Freedom passes are only available for those of state pension age ( currently 66 years old) and can't be used outside Zone 6.
National railway fares are same for all apart from those who have bought a railcard which allow for reduced cost journeys.

A freedom pass covers the whole of the Elizabeth Line.

Apologies, I'd assumed it would be the same as other underground lines.

That's because it's not part of the London Underground network, uses standard National Rail rolling stock.
