Gateshead Kicked Out

Gateshead have been kicked out of the play-offs. Solihull receive a bye.

Why do Solihull get bye, should be Altrincham as finished higher!

What's even more mental is that if Altrincham hadn't have won yesterday they'd have finished in Solihull's position, qualified straight for the semis and given themselves a massive advantage. All kinds of injustices going on here.

Aldershot should have been given the slot.

This is absolutely insane. I’m glad we don’t have to play Gateshead now but if I was an Alty fan I’d be absolutely fuming.

I was expecting and hoping to play a knackered Gateshead team, not a fresh team with the best away record in the league

I'd be more pissed off if I was an Aldershot fan. This must have been known beforehand?

Don’t we have the best home record in the league?

Aldershot knew beforehand. Their manager referred to it after the game finished yesterday. I would of thought Gateshead should of played Solihul and if they won, we should of got the bye.

Feel for the fans. They must be feeling sick about this. At least they have the trophy final to look forward to.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

There are 4 losers in all this, Gateshead the biggest by a mile being chucked out, Barnet fighting for second then having to face a fresh team, Altrincham for finishing 4th and having to play a QF where 5th doesn’t and Aldershot by being denied a place in the play offs that would seem logical. And 2 winners, Solihull the biggest winners for getting a bye, and to a lesser extent Bromley for playing a team that has had to play an eliminator despite finishing below Barnet who have to face a fresher team. It’s only really Halifax who are unaffected.

Agreed, Gateshead fans are the biggest losers in all this, even having endured the semi final loss up there last year I have massive sympathy for them, the timing stinks.
