Newly promoted Bromley’s ground is in a Conservative constituency.Tuesds wrote: ↑05 Jul 2024, 23:00 Remarkably there is now not a single EFL ground in a Conservative-held constituency. Even more remarkably, we are not only in a Tory seat but the second safest Tory seat in the country, in Harrow East.
I find all this talk of green belt and planning strange, when the land is owned by the council and we don’t seem to have them on board as landowners. Feels like the bigger issue. Unless we have that landowner agreement, any planning matters are irrelevant.

Surely “Greyfield” is more about parts of the “green belt” that have previously been developed and have derelict buildings and concreted areas on them, there are loads of areas like this around.hoofer2 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2024, 14:52 The classification of Greyfield really annoys me. Just because the land has not been landscaped with flowers, concrete paths and manicured grass ( dewilding ) or managed. Scrubland is an essential wildlife habitat and provides the green corridors required for wildlife to roam.

Being in such a safe seat, perhaps he ought to stand in the campaign to elect the new Tory leader?

Given how few Tory MPs are left I'm sure Bob would be happy to be the leader of the opposition at the same time as taking on half the shadow cabinet roles, as long as he gets paid for each of them. He didn't earn the moniker "5 Jobs Bob" for nothing.rudebwoyben wrote: ↑06 Jul 2024, 12:25Bob Blackman’s slavishly pro-Modhi stance paid off.Tuesds wrote: ↑05 Jul 2024, 23:00 Remarkably there is now not a single EFL ground in a Conservative-held constituency. I'd be very interested to hear from people with some knowledge of planning - is this claim correct? Or is there a potential way around this?
"Barnet keep saying they want to return to Underhill, but the site the club has chosen is a school sports field and if an application was made for this, the Department of Education would stop it in a flash."

Amused by the residents complaining about school traffic.
I have been pessimistic since the announcement, especially as sports and recreation facilities at The Football Pad? already built.
Dissenting voices bitter about Freehold sale of Underhill, and now even more angry about the school will come out the woodwork, another toxic political football that will take away from things happening on the pitch.
Hope I'm proved wrong but....

Extremely lazy from the Cllr. Keeps mentioning things that are accounted for, such as Ark Academy losing a section of their playing fields, completely brushing over how in the plan they are set to receive a high quality multi-sport playing surface. I wouldn’t read too much into it. If I also understand correctly under this current Labour govt, projects like this can no longer be blocked by local people themselves?thebeekeeper wrote: ↑24 Jul 2024, 06:39 This article was shared in the BFCSA Whatsapp group this morning:

It’s also extremely unhelpful to make comments like his when as stated, there’s still no official plan out there.

Most likely would be the case IF the plans didn’t involve offering significant access to the school.thebeekeeper wrote: ↑24 Jul 2024, 06:39 This article was shared in the BFCSA Whatsapp group this morning:

All hear say but someone said to me the other day that they know certain senior people in our club & that Underhill will not be happening as well.
Also, when was the last 'monthly' progress update from the club - April?

It would certainly be good for the club to get back into the routine of regular monthly updates, to allay any fears like the one above. I believe there was an update due at the end of May, but it never materialised.

Ah, gotcha. No need to apologise - was just worried I’d missed some bad news!

Unprofessional of people at the club to be spreading rumours like that.
TK should get rid of people like that.
