What are the general feelings about this at the moment? I hear some say it is done deal - we are coming home, and others quite the opposite. Are people optimistic, pessimistic or realistic? I see Man Utd have an aim to win the league in 2028. Do we have a target date in mind when those of us who live in Barnet and do not have the energy Gary Cooper showed when we first moved can actually start walking to and from Barnet games again?

I would love it to happen, sooner rather than later but better late than never. I will support the campaign with all my heart but will take all news with a pinch of salt until it happens.

I'd say realistic. Your final sentence, especially the last dozen words, exactly sum up my feelings.

I think we have a better chance this time round than before. It seems to be a more professional approach to detail. The Council promised to build a community Hall but can't afford it, we can incorporate that. Traffic congestion in Barnet Lane with the School is a nightmare for residents, we can help solve that problem. Also, the new design isn't a concrete monstrosity and more pleasing on the eye for the residents living opposite. Business's people have stated how much they need the Football Supporters coming into the Town to spend money. I don't think there is as much opposition as before. Hopefully the Council will accept what an asset having a Football Club in the Town can be. I actually believe we a realistic chance this time, fingers crossed.

Quietly optimistic, but there may be hurdles to jump. It feels like we're approaching it the right way by engaging up front with all the right people.

In years gone by, it came across like the club was saying here's our design, but it was us vs the rest of the world.

This time we've learned we have to appeal to different people for different reasons. Excited to see the plans in more detail. What we see so far is a basic 3D visualisation.

I remain baffled by the outline designs for the new stadium. I know they are only initial ideas but it looks like a large bus shelter to me. Where are the backs to the stands, which look no higher than the the Hive's old south terrace? And as for acoustics...

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the public consultation sessions when I hope more will become clear.

Could be 4 old trolley shelters around a half worn pitch, long as it’s in Barnet, it’s home!

Very exciting stuff. Seems the club has settled for 7,000 capacity after the initial Chairman's Statement said 6000-8000. Interesting to see that in the Questionaire it states 'construction to begin in 2025/26' which feels quite soon given we haven't submitted the application yet. How long would the process take and I wonder whether that means there is confidence behind the scenes of it getting through?

Wouldn't it be also great to have a pub/bar/cafe space open on non matchdays for the local community too. AFC Wimbledon have done so with The Phoenix Pub at Plough Lane. Comedy nights, quizzes, live music.
Call it 'The Slope' in a nod to our former home!

A non-matchday venue for kids parties, school sports events, so many possibilities if we get it right. Have filled in the questionnaire already. Need to get as many positive responses as possible entered.

Interesting point about possibly having a park and ride option. Might be a clever ploy to alleviate the traffic impact. Again, get the location right and the service to back it up, whether it be a Saturday afternoon or a Tuesday night.

There is a big carpark at Canons Park that could be used for park and ride.

Me too - the outside looks very 1980s as well & the design incredibly basic. But I am hoping that is done on purpose to keep everything as low key as possible for now.
