Have seen picture of the Hive pitch being covered in sand.
Some very interesting developments!

As you look out from Legends it's to the right of our dugout area.ETBee wrote: ↑24 May 2024, 13:25 I can't really visualise where the new tunnel (more a covered walkway, I assume) will be located. What is the justification for it and new changing rooms at considerable cost? Will the changing rooms replace the bar?
A longer pitch certainly sounds like an invitation to an rugby club - Ealing perhaps.
Great to have a standing area on the side of the pitch although the east side is dreadfull in terms of direct sunshine and rain. A cleverly designed roof could do the trick. Will it be a "no bad language" zone, being so close to the directors!?
Calls for a visit next week, I think.
TK has always wanted it moved from where it was, doesn't like us coming out right next to the away fans. Changing rooms are already there, just a case of modernising them, creating a new manager's office etc.
Roof has been suggested.

Was at the Hive today. I couldn't really see any noticeable change in the length of the pitch. The new pitch is just young grass at the moment, the plastic "bits" have yet to be planted, or whatever you do with plastic

Has the new terrace appeared in place of the family stand?

Would of thought the plastic is in there already , it’s to strengthen the pitch so it’s doesn’t wear and tear as much (I think )

The fibers would have been stitched already, it's normally around 8% and 92% grass.

When I went past on the train two weeks ago the difference in the length of the pitch was very noticeable, perhaps you can't tell now that grass is growing

I asked Steve Cooney yesterday if the new safe standing area would be fully covered. He was very prompt in replying and didn’t think there were any plans to extend the section of roof to make sure it is fully covered.
This puts me off buying a season ticket because, while I prefer to stand and will want to go in that go in that stand that won’t be the case if it is chucking it down.

That was for Kaka's visit to the Hive and with Gatorade promoting London's bid for the 2030 Beach world cup.
Apparently it will be held in London if we are successful.
