Opening day date

Post: # 376266Post Franks Collection »

Hi all, does anyone know the opening day of the 24/25 season? I'm suspecting it's 10th August but wanted to make sure it's not 3rd. Ta.

Opening date - 10th August
Last day - Monday 5th May

What do we think that means for possible play off final date? Weekend of 17th/18th May? Looking to book some flights but will have to wait for dates to be confirmed... just in case! Trophy final could be pretty late.

Just read that the FA Cup final will be the weekend of 17th/18th May next year. So not sure what this means for the National League Play off final date and location. Does anyone remember when all the dates were confirmed last season?!

With the final match on bank holiday Monday, they'll have to do the play-offs differently this year.

My suspicion is that the eliminators will need to take place on the weekend of 10th-11th May and the semi-finals midweek around 13th-14th May. Obviously they can't do a final the weekend immediately following that (because of ticket sales etc), so my best guess would be Sat/Sun 25th-26th May, which does seem remarkably late.

Usually the FA Trophy final follows the play-off final, but I wonder if that'll be earlier this year? We'll know more when the trophy dates are announced on Friday.

I believe last year they announced all the key dates at the same time, which suggests there has been some kind of complication with dates / venue this time around.

Strange.
If the final date of the NL season is Monday 5th then it would be impossible to play the Final on weekend of 10th /11th. Seems more likely that that would be F A Trophy / F A Vase anyway.
Leaving until weekend of 24th/ 25th seems unlikely, even more so when you consider that EFL final date is Saturday 3rd so imagine their P.O. Finals will be that weekend.
Suggests to me that NL P.O. Final will be weekend of 17th /18th May, either the day before / after the F A Cup Final or it will be somewhere other than Wembley.

Thinking about it further, I suppose you could have both eliminators on Thurs 8th May, then the semi-finals on Sun 11th May, which would allow you to have the final on 17th/18th - even if it's all a bit of a tight squeeze.

Has Wembley ever previously been used for two finals on the same weekend?

Don’t they usually have L2 and L1 finals back to back at Wembley?

Oh yes, of course they do. In that case it seems feasible.

they have all 3 finals over bh weekend. Also they need to fit in non league finals day and the WFA Cup finals in that time period so can't see play off final being at Wembley as insufficient dates available.
