BBB - Underhill Screening with BF & PF

Post: # 376755Post iainb »

Hi everyone,

I know there are a couple of BBB threads along here but felt this event was worth highlighting on a separate thread.

We are very excited to announce our second summer event - a private screening of Simon Emmett’s critically-acclaimed documentary, Underhill on Sunday 14th July (3pm - 5pm)

- Screening at Everyman Cinema (Barnet)
- Q&A with Barry Fry & Paul Fairclough
- TK, DB and other club staff in attendance

The purpose of the event is to bring together fans, staff and influential local voices to showcase the value that the club has in the local community. Alongside fans, we’re inviting local councillors, politicians, businesses and media to come together in the afternoon before the Euros final.

Planning permission for Barnet FC to return home will be assessed and granted by a small group of councillors. This documentary and event will hopefully show the club as a huge community asset, as well starting several key conversations about how the club, fans and community can work together to bring the club home.

We anticipate the event being very popular and so are running a ballot for fan tickets (see details on the link below). You can register any time before Sunday 24th June.

We really hope as many of you as possible can join us at the event. As ever, if you have any questions or suggestions, please email info@bringbarnetback.com.

Thanks again for all your support so far!

That's pretty special, and they are screening Euro matches there too.

Absolutely gutted. I will be in Poland. Any chance of videoing the Q&A. I’d be happy to put some pennies in the pot…

I suppose MA's title came at The Hive rather than Underhill, so he's probably less suitable for this event.

I'd also be interested in seeing a recording of the Q&A if it's possible. It may even be useful to clip it up and use on social media, to further expand the campaign's reach.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the brilliant response to the event so far. In response:

1. Yes, will try to record Q&A - need to check with Everyman about the tech facilities for this
2. Everyman have said there's only (technological) capacity for 2 guests on stage + the host, but invite is on the way to MA and hopefully he can make it!

Iain another thought and you may well have this in mind but as I never saw the film the first time would be interested in seeing it anyway at another time without the special guests (or another set eg Graz, Hendo etc) if I am unsuccessful in the ballot.

Yep, will definitely look into that after the event.

Demand for tickets has been very high. We're not the rights-holders and there are a couple of hoops to jump through (!) but will definitely push for a follow-up, perhaps once further plans for South Underhill have been announced.

Hi everyone,

We've just out emails to everyone who entered. Demand was exceptionally high and we're hopeful of running of similar event later on this year - time and logistics permitting.

Really sorry to everyone who has missed out and thanks to everyone who entered.

May we ask the level of demand?
Perhaps an indication of the level of attendance we may hope for at a future South Underhill.
