Underrated moment of the season: Glover’s 99th minute equaliser to preserve the home record vs Sutton.
Barnet 3-3 Sutton Utd
HT 2 - 1 FT 3 - 3
Ryan Glover (30)Adebola Oluwo (42)Nick Hayes (90)
Ashley Nadesan (21)Will Davies (69)Besart Topalloj (72)

I totally agree. No way is that Hayes's goal! Give it to Glover!Giving Hayes the goal would be a travesty. He almost stopped it going in.
I love Luisma & really miss his skils!
Re: The Bee-Brief Podcast
It’s tough on Glover, but there’s a pretty well-established convention that unless it’s an own goal then a goal is credited to the last attacking player who made contact with the ball. In this case the ball did hit Hayes on the way in, so it’s his goal!

There have been a few that are contentious this year.
Maidenhead Away - was initially given to Stead but now down as an O/G.
Sutton (Home) - Glovers last minute equaliser appears to have been credited to Hayes.
Maidenhead (Home) - Glovers header that Linesman flagged to say had crossed the line has been awarded to Stead

Also Tamworth at home, our second goal has been credited to Glover when it was clearly an own-goal.

I was not in my usual spot near the TV Gantry for the York match, but tucked in the corner near the old tunnel, all I saw was Lee bearing down on goal and then general pandemonium. Not the best place, but it gave me a great view of the first half's action. Although all the fans were very nervous (I was a bag of nerves), it was clear that the team were well up for it and so focused.DSM wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025, 20:40SisterJosephine wrote: ↑26 Mar 2025, 19:40My ears are still ringing!JWTBee wrote: ↑25 Mar 2025, 13:12Where is that "like" button!?SisterJosephine wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025, 14:21 Excellent listen as always. You mentioned moments of the season in the podcast, two for me, Lee putting us two up vs York, and the roof coming off the main stand when Lee scored the winner vs D&R, unreal...
I agree with these 2 moments. At 1-0 against York you feared we’d concede despite the dominant display. That 2nd goal was a big relief and ‘we’ve done it’ moment. It killed the not doing it in big matches theory as well.
As for Dagenham for those old enough that felt like the Steve Bruce moment for Man U v Sheffield weds in 1993 when united won their first title in years, subs jumping on the pitch, would love to have had a view of TK and MA to see if they were calm!
What a season and thank you beebrief for allowing us to enjoy it and milk it even more!

Just getting through the episode during journeys in the car. I wouldn't be able to make it the Railway Tavern as i have a 14 and 10 year old and neither of them can drive me home afterwards! My wife has already had kittens from me sending her photos from the terrace at Sutton with my youngest at the front banging on the advertising hoarding to our singing. My response, to her question of "where are you?", of "oh! he's alright, he's enjoying himself" went down like a lead balloon.
I remember going to Kudos in Watford, anyone else old enough to remember Kudos? in the early 90's and the whole team turning up and getting p****d with them. Not sure the people of Watford understood a lot of the songs sung that night

Same. Paradise Lost for me too!
Re: The Bee-Brief Podcast
It was Destiny in my day! Never saw any Bees players in there, but did chat to Lee Gledhill and Ben Strevens in Eros in Enfield a few hours after we’d lost to 10-man Farnborough in the early 00s. Sad to think that these days any footballer who dares to go out after a bad result in their own free time is ‘called out’ for it online and is the subject of criticism and even abuse.
On that evening it was Gledhill and not us who did the complaining, grumbling as he did that Mr Kleanthous was ‘tighter than a duck’s arse’. So I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised then when he quit full-time football to work in the city!
