Altrincham - 1601
Gateshead - 1096
Solihull - 1037
Dagenham (don't write them off as mounting a potential challenge) - 1481

None of whom will have anywhere close to the extra revenue that the Hive is able to generate.

So someone from another club's support feeling the need to come on to OUR forum and gloat about attendances is pure sour grapes on their part and they should mind their own business and worry about their own club's problems
You may benefit from reading back on posts, there is absolutely no gloating on crowd size at all that I could see. If you don't want opposition supporters on your board, then fair enough, don't let them register. One thing for certain, I won't bother any more.
No gloating from you Rootshallbloke but plenty on other medis sites. Not that it bothers me, it’s what happens on the pitch that counts.
Hope you reconsider about not posting any more. It’s always good to read the views of opposition fans.

I think opposition supporters are most welcome on our board, particularly when they conduct themselves as you and Shrimperama do. Personally, I like to hear an opposition view and how you view our club.. I had no problem at all with your post. I don't think there is any question that our budget this season is higher than in previous years, although I'd be very surprised if it's more that top 25% in the league. Knowing our chairman, he won't be recklessly throwing money at it - that's never been his style.

That’s a good point, our attendance is only being picked out as there was more away fans than home. But as said before Southend are a league one team operating way below they should. I think attendances will pick up for us, can’t see any other teams bringing 1600 this season (unless a cup, play off game etc). Southend fans are gloating on many other sites and let them, they do have great support for this level, however from what I saw on Saturday a way sub par team than ours. Bring on today, where hopefully we will have a decent number of fans.

I don't think anybody would disagree with the Southend fans opinion that historically they are the biggest club in this league. They are also the club that has been worst run for some years, which is why they are now at this level.

At least we can offer them 1,800+ seats in a safe away end and they brought 1,603 fans. We couldn't take anything remotely like that number to their ground is in such a dilapidated state that their capacity has been massively cut, including that to the away end. That is no fault whatsoever of their fans but they do need to consider that before inferring superiority.

Anyway, glad they survived. Hope their new consortium gets them back to former levels. But I think they need to consolidate first.
