The Safe Standing Stand
Re: The Safe Standing Stand
Great to hear people are happy with the stand. Would love to try it in a cup game. Looks like the 2 for 1 special offer still applies in case anyone was thinking of it. Surprised more younger fans haven't gone for it as it's amazing value with a friend but perhaps they'll pay on the day as suggested elsewhere.
Re: The Safe Standing Stand
I always think that those in safe standing areas look as though they are standing in the pews at church and are about to sign a hymn.

Is there something to kneel on too?

the seats are padded and more comfortable than the north and west stand.

Re: The Safe Standing Stand
First visit yesterday and here’s some thoughts:
• Issues with turnstile ticket scanning, club really need to get a grip of this
• Solid views from the back row
• Comfy padded seat
• Pure entertainment watching DB. He was fuming all game. Imagine him when we’re losing..
• Brand new toilets and you can hear the dressing rooms when inside, they must be next door
• Nice little tea hut, no Q
• Whilst it’s clearly advertised as safe standing, many sit and this caused a bit of an issue with one family who’s views were blocked. They ended up moving and probably weren’t aware you are ok to stand
• Overall, a great cheaper alternative if you want to mix things up a bit.

Re: The Safe Standing Stand
I noticed that only about 25% of the fans were standing yesterday. That type of area is best when full.

Think it will become more popular. Seems a great idea, not tried it yet, but will be my home whenever possible.

Seemed busier than against Sarfend.
I guess it’s a behavioural thing where if they see others sitting, they’ll do the same.

I think the seats may be padded because they've been used as hospitality seats a couple of times over the last few years

The seats have always been padded in that stand.

Re: The Safe Standing Stand
I tried the safe standing with my son for the 1st time yesterday and have to agree with comments above that it was very enjoyable.
Watching Dean and the coaching staff was nearly as enjoyable as the match - and it highlighted to me what a great management team we have. It was the level of detail - capturing moments in the game where an individual could improve - Kirk taking notes, the coaching throughout the game.
It came across how we want to play and the demands and expectations on players and the standards that the management team are setting.

DB was fuming at Nick Hayes pretty much all game for taking too long to play out / going long every time.BedfordBee wrote:I tried the safe standing with my son for the 1st time yesterday and have to agree with comments above that it was very enjoyable.

- “He doesn’t understand what we’re trying to do!”
- “I’m gonna need to have a word with him at Half Time”
- “He’s not fucking listening!”
Also loved that he wasn’t letting up even at 7-0, he wanted more goals.
“Quicker! Quicker! Give it Hartigan! Chappers is on! Too slow!”
