Lets put a stamp on our authority and have a proper ruthless streak to our performance to show the division we well and truly mean business.
Delighted my annihilation prediction came to fruition. We have a very good squad for this level.

The players and especially our manager deserve so much more than the pitiful attendances they have to play in front of.
Don’t get what we have to do to improve attendances the stock and obvious answer is move back to Barnet, I feel for the team and the players. I guess we’re not the only ones with Gateshead getting less through the gate than us. What a squad we have this season!

Looking forward to those highlights & hope they get the full build up for the 5th (as so often the highlights miss a lot of good play, winning the penalty vs Southend for example).

Don’t want to he negative just realistic but we need to cut out some sloppy moments at the back, Gateshead will punish big time next week & it will take a lot longer to get the ball back than vs that mob today!

Highlights already up and they do show the build-up to our 5th goal in detail (lovely touch by Glover to put Shelton through) as well as the build-ups to our 1st, 6th and 7th goals.
They missed our 2nd though.

Chainsaw wrote: 31 Aug 2024, 20:56 It really doesn't get any better than that. Their contemporaneous twitter feed is very complimentary about us. Adoring even. 'Sensational first half', 'Barnet playing liquid football', 'Barnet are unplayable' etc. Usually the opposition's twitter feed barely mentions us. It was Tamworth's biggest defeat in a quarter of a century.
I was surprised how quite a few of their fans lined the perimeter at the end applauding and then their players went along the line touching hands. ("Well done lads at least it wasn't eight or nine"). Very step four. Whilst I'd never abuse or boo my team I'd never applaud a slaughter like that. Surely it makes all other cheering and applause redundant if you do that.
When you consider that they have just had a double promotion, (and nobody gave them much of a chance after the 1st one), they have probably built up some goodwill with the fans.

Andy Peaks' teams might play quite limited football, but his record since he stepped up as a Manager is pretty impressive to say the least.

Haydn Hollis, who was at centre half for Tamworth today, also played in the 6-0 win against Dorking. Hates the Hive, presumably

This is always a tough period with summer holidays still around as well as being as being off the back of essentially 4 games in a week. Arsenal of course didn’t help too, keep the faith!

That could be terminally traumatising for a player!

You can only beat what's put in front of you. We made mincemeat of them.

And his point is clearly that beating 'shit' teams isn't always as easy as it ought to be, as Aldershot will attest to..

Couldn’t make last Saturday or yesterday due to a wedding and then a family commitment - gutted, needless to say. It’s just that time of year, although as a season ticket holder I guess I’m still counted in the attendance figure. Sadly, it’s hard to see it changing until we can restore some form of local identity.

Yes, as an Aldershot fan pointed out:
Last Monday Barnet lost to Maidenhead, Aldershot lost to Tamworth.
Yesterday Barnet beat Tamworth, Aldershot beat Maidenhead.

First time this season I've seen players breaking lines Chapman, Shelton, both wing backs played like wingers, Kenlock, Kizzi. Most pleasing was Brunt, our play cries out for someone that can get past the last man all game a Weston/Pritchard type player, I was not sure if Brunt was previously playing it safe, didn't have the legs or timing. Today he committed himself forward all match and his timing and touch was spot on......I think having Chapman there doing the same also helps confidence in his ability. Well done all!

Hopefully will be re-edited as a couple of replays were cut short as well as the missing goal...

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Tamworth were a poor side or made to look like a poor side but they still had four excellent chances that they didn't put away - but that another team (like Gateshead or even Maidenhead) might have put away. As long as we score more goals than the opposition I suppose it's OK

Forgetting how poor the opposition was yesterday, we do seem to be playing forward quicker playing balls through into areas behind the defence. Hartigan playing quicker and passing longer so missing out a pass. Last season we moved up together as a team and it got clogged up in the final 3rd. Regardless of opposition it looks to my untrained eye thar we aren't dicking about so much with the ball. Obviously helped with additions of Glover and Chapman but kizzi and Kenlock look good roaming forward.
