Can hardly hear what the bloke who is asking Dean the questions, got some creeking noise in background.

Appreciate it done just after the game and they are normally good quality but the last 2 away ones have been poor
That's the interviewer's job to check sound quality, surely can't be too difficult to me for him to do that.
Also, any one place could have problems, when two interviews fall short on successive away matches then that's incompetence.

TBF I thought the audio quality was incredible for having taken place on an old wooden ship.

Perhaps they need to invest in an external microphone.

Just assumed it was a hyper sensitive mic picking up DB's body stress

We are still bedding a new side in. There will be ups and downs.

5 points off the lead is a decent start. As one of Beespod said the league will be won with a lower points total than in recent times.

An exciting season in store

We need serious work in training on defending and off the ball shape. We arent good enough going forward to do a chesterfield and out score our way to the title.

We seem to look at defending as a chore and only enjoy the pretty overloads. I think we could seriously do with a defensive coach coming in and drilling the team as soon as we lose the ball, DB can do the on ball work.

I dont doubt Connor Smiths credentials but he's learning the role and is probably a bit of a yes man.

I agree about the defensive Coach, but how many Coaches can our budget afford?

Completely disagree about CS being a yes man. That's not the impression I get at all.

The creaking noise in the background is probably our defence

Saturday was obviously very disappointing, but we have a good run of fixtures (on paper) leading up to the FA Cup 4th qualifying round weekend:

Altrincham (H)
Braintree (H)
Wealdstone (A)
Aldershot (A)
Fylde (H)
Boston United (H)

You would hope for a solid points total from those matches, which will hopefully get us averaging two points a game again.

We'll need a good return, too, because there's a tougher set of games in October and November.

Personally, I don't think you can underestimate just how big a blow Kabamba's injury has been – we've probably done pretty well to accrue the points total we have without our talisman up front, and it's no surprise that we're missing chances without him in the team.

It's not an easy position to recruit for, but we really do need to get another centre-forward over the line as soon as possible, because the absence of one is costing us potentially crucial points in the promotion race.

Just hanging it out there…I thought that was an excellent, pretty high quality match between 2 slick teams committed to passing rather than lumping it. Lots of skill on both sides but with enough scuffs/ miskicks to show why no-one on the pitch is going to play for Man City quite yet. A lot of our passing was excellent, maybe the groans rather than cheers when the final pass broke down reflect higher expectations this year than last. Towards the end Gateshead were knackered – it’s a credit to Barnet that we worked them so hard. Hope the highlights show that 2 -minute spell when the ball hardly left their six yard box, 2 point blanks saves, a couple of blocks… Just needed to take some of those chances!
Think it’s also possible to say Gateshead are very good. Their no 10 must be a nightmare to play against, his movement off the ball was excellent. The 9 & 12 were excellent too and if our defenders couldn’t keep them in their back pocket all match, I don’t think it means they were poor overall. The tackle before their first goal was brilliant – just unlucky the ball fell to Gateshead players. Probably in a minority but I thought the ref had a good game – early yellow cards for both teams for shirt pulling meant the game flowed well after that. Also thought Gateshead stewards were welcoming and chatty, toilets cleaned before half time and free parking. Pretty positive compared to many away grounds!

Big respect to the 148 who travelled up North for this one. We only got a bit more for the local-ish Ebbsfleet game a few weeks ago!

I only watched on NLTV ( although I probably had a better view of the on the ball play than you did from the distant seating!) but I thought it looked to be a good match between 2 decent sides. Problem wasn't losing to Gateshead. It was losing at Halifax and more so, losing at Maidenhead ( that's the only match they've won so far this season and our shortcomings were so obvious yet DB did nothing to resolve until we'd conceded 3 goals).

Yes, that 2 minute spell was something, we should have scored then. Unfortunately we needed more such spells.

Clearly counselling has worked as I'm still suffering PTSD after 'that' game...
