Was behind the goal when Dougie scored. A moment of both joy and disbelief! The match was like a dream. Phillips pulled off save after save. Went home wondering if it all really happened.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

Paul Wilson missed a sitter to make it 2-0 when the ball was pulled back to the penalty spot and he slotted it wide which I remember surprising me as he never missed from the penalty spot.

At least that's my memory as that's never in the highlights I've seen.

I saw it from the North West terrace so had a great view of Dougie’s goal!
I remember he had a great chance at the start of the second half to make it 2-0.
I also remember Steve McMahon getting more and more annoyed as the match went on.

Was on the north terrace, what a night, magic!

Dougie photo on back patio of many of the papers the next morning.

Happy days

He didn't miss, just dreamed he was playing Rugby.

I was in my loft a short while ago and came across the newspapers I kept with Dougie on the back.

'DOUGIE DIAMOND'! Yeah I've got some somewhere. Surely no way a lower league team would have got that kind of splash (inside double spread) in the nationals these money-cankered days.
