If you don’t find a biblically angry Irish man motivational then I don’t know who will do it for you :D :D

York supporters who were sitting behind the dug outs commented on how unpleasant Dean Brennan is, did not stop screaming at his players, and not in a positive way, is his attuide helping his players, if you was on pitch close to him would you feel inspired by him screaming at you. May work for some but overall probably have opposite effect. This has been brought up and mentioned many times,

He does seem particularly angry this season! I’m often in the safe standing section and it’s very noticeable. It’s an odd one, clearly something is working as our current position shows.

I think the attitude to the players come from the pressure DB puts on himself. He’s been clear that he’s here to win the league and I think he knows these mistakes are very costly.

He could do with managing his emotions better but his heart is mostly in the right place. He’s still got nothing on Barry Fry!

Do you care how your boss speaks to you? Or how your son's teacher speaks to him?

So in some games this season we have been brilliant in the first half but awful in the second half.
Why?
Well we are not privileged to be in the dressing room for the pre-match chat with the players nor indeed the half-time chat but my guess is that the tone if these chats differs wildly.
Before the kick off there is no need to slag the players off….they have done nothing wrong at that stage.
However, at half-time something seems to change. The players come out for the second half seemingly demotivated.
Could that be down to what is said to them (and HOW it is said)?

I have a friend who is a Solihull fan and he said Brennan just spent the first half having a go at the ref

Probably the best centre half I've seen us have on the ball since Michael Hector. Needs to get stronger and faster but that will come with time and he's playing well even now.

And how valuable Shelton is as a central midfielder who does his best work off the ball - pressing, tackling, breaking up play generally. I know we scored the 2nd after he went off but we never had the same control without him. Let's hope that injury isn't serious. Could do with another in the same mold if there is any money available.
I expect Tavares or Clifford could do the job - if they can actually get fit. It's not even November and too many players are being managed for injuries. Signing players with questionable injury records a lottery as to which ones will ever get fit
Yes, I suppose Tavares could with Collinge at right centre back, although given how good Tavares looked in defence and how good the defence looked with him there I'm not sure I'd want us to do that. Clifford looks more the Hartigan type to me.

I've got a season ticket in the Bee Army Stand and it's excellent value for money. Watching DB 'a huffing and 'a puffing, cussing and gesticulating is good TV and funny :geahh: Although I personally would not be motivated by a continuously moaning manager. I also don't think DB does himself any favours calling out individual players in public/post match interviews. Fine in the confines of the changing room, but not good for team moral outside of it. Did you ever see Klopp, Wenger, Fergie, Ancellotti, 'Mad Dog' Allen doing it?????
As for the game, as everyone has said, for 60 or 70 minutes we were fantastic, but then inexplicably fell apart. I also thought the substitutions did us no favours, and Steady is still injured, brought back far too early. He might be out for a while, sadly. But. We won. Onwards and upwards. COYB's :ohlord: :y:

during the beespod review of last season, there was a comment about Hartigan not being able to do something (can’t remember what it was) and one of the hosts quite rightly said ‘well if he could do everything, he’d be at a much higher level’

I love Dean but it’s important to remember we’re a 5th division club for a reason. If he could manage his emotions 100% of the time, get the tactics right week in week out and win silverware each season, he’d be at a much higher level. any footballer or manager at this level will have a certain percentage of flaws, else they’d have been snapped up to a higher league by now

Was a game which 3 years ago we would have drawn or even gone on to lose.
Again we could have been 3 or 4 up before they got back into it.
Thoughts Hayes did well stopping some of there attempts in 2nd half (His job I know lol)

Cracks me up some of the madness comments. Never going to walk every match. Don't have a right to being in total control, not least because other teams are good/spent more/lucky/unlucky.

We're playing well, and a good chance it'll be alright on the night come end of season. One or two matches does not a season make.
