Second half our wing backs dropped much more into a back five. Then without Shelton next to Harts, with the two 10s playing close to Nicke and without the wing backs higher up, we had too few bodies in the middle of the pitch. Which allowed Rochdale to come at us with ease.

Their goal was obviously a shocker. But they had so many chances with such freedom to run at our defence.

Incredibly pleased to get three points. Though left the game feeling like we lost given the last 20 minutes.

Have to remember the opening 40 mins when we were superb. Hard to believe it was the same game.

Brennan is such an angry man - quite like it though.
Collinge won’t be here next year & looked like he was running in treacle, in fact the subs made us a lot worse on the whole.

We are crying out for an Ian Hendon style leader to get us over the line as this team looks so high in quality but so low in minerals. Harsh as it sounds but I feel we are destined for another play off defeat as our boys get so nervous - ridiculous to be criticising a team that has won every home game I know.

Excellent for 40 minutes and then lost the plot. At 2-up at home need to kill the game. Our absence of game management was alarming.

On the plus side, Coker’s goal was excellent. As was his goal-saving clearance. But best of all was his interview. What a character.

He also said in the five games we have lost only one Solihull did we deserve to loose, not sure how he got to this view as York deserved three points from our shocking defending, and for me Maidenhead was a joke, they threatened us down our left so many times before they scored. Seems to be bad feelings for what ever reason between himself and Danny Collinge.
Interested to see what others made of his post match interview.
Very strange comment by him re Collinge, who always strikes me as a model professional. Also re other "injured" players. No calling out of individual players or the fans was pleasing for me.

I noticed the micro managing from the Safe Standing area too (first time there, really interesting and enjoyable experience). Did not stop all first half. Was much quieter second half I thought so maybe should have kept it up!
Some of it seemed really confusing. At one stage he kept shouting for the ball to played to Hartigan and then on to Glover when there didn't seem to be any way the player in possession could actually pass it to Hartigan.

Perhaps he was just trying to confuse the opposition.

Does anyone know what he wants to happen when he shouts "horseshoe"?

If the ball is on the left side of defence, work it round to the right side and vice versa

Coker's interview was great.

Another weird edit of the highlights - is it done by AI? Misses build up especially for replays and missed a key moment with Rochdale hitting the bar.

Nicke unlucky not to get at least one more. Stead needs to find a way to despatch a proper shot to goal - shots are often scuffed.

One thing that I have noted is we are not as strong at set pieces as we were last. Pritchard and Collinge made a big difference with important goals. Good that we are scoring from open play

Coker is a proper character! Great performance from him too and he seemed delighted he got the goal.

I was at Solihull and York and what struck me then was the similarities between the two matches. Now we can add Rochdale to that list. In all three we started well, Kabamba gave us the lead, all going fine but then opposition scored from our mistake and we went to pieces. The only difference between the three matches was that Solihull and York took their chances but Rochdale didn't.

Pleased to see Collinge and Clifford back but bringing two long term injured players back at the same moment struck me as a risky move at the time and their introduction did result in the team being weakened. I couldn't understand what it was that DB mumbled about Collinge but I think he should keep his opinion there between the two of them. Likewise the cryptic " I know what needs to happen and until that happens (mumble)". What was that about?

I also listened to the Rochdale manager interview. Difference there is that McNulty acknowledges that both teams gave the opposition a goal but says nothing further. Unlike DB, listening to him you'd almost think Oluwu did it on purpose.

DB speaks of some heads dropping, lack of confidence after Solihull and York. Surely his job now is to boost their confidence. Not give an interview like that.

Two things from yesterday come to mind - how good is Joe Rye's passing?! I can see why Brennan raves about him. Probably the best centre half I've seen us have on the ball since Michael Hector. Needs to get stronger and faster but that will come with time and he's playing well even now.

And how valuable Shelton is as a central midfielder who does his best work off the ball - pressing, tackling, breaking up play generally. I know we scored the 2nd after he went off but we never had the same control without him. Let's hope that injury isn't serious. Could do with another in the same mold if there is any money available.

I expect Tavares or Clifford could do the job - if they can actually get fit. It's not even November and too many players are being managed for injuries. Signing players with questionable injury records a lottery as to which ones will ever get fit

Comment on Rochdale message board re Deano;

"What a miserable fecker he is. Not a motivational man is he? And he doesn't want to be in the FA Cup although he recognises that the fans might. Bet he is great at a party".

To be fair I wasn't doing cart wheels down Camrose Avenue after the 2nd half.

Rightly annoyed/disappointed after we made life hard for ourselves.

And re the f.a cup, all he said was it's a distraction from our primary goal ...promotion.

If we play like we did in the first fourty minutes for the whole match we will beat Exeter.

The second half was just abysmal and DB needs to sort this out. The players need to be better motivated especially Nicke. Strange substitutions didn't help.
