On the other hand we’re miles better than either Aldershot or Fylde and should deal with them. I also think Eastleigh and Oldham will still be looking for points to get a play-off place in the last couple of matches so will not be resting players.Edd1 wrote: ↑02 Mar 2025, 21:14 Looking at the run in what worries me is the last two games of the season especially as they compare to York and Forest Green.
We could be in a situation where we play Aldershot and Fylde with them both needing something to stay up.
Meanwhile York and FG could both have one game against someone in midtable with their mind already on the beach and someone going into a playoff campaign potentially resting players.
Not a position I'd relish.

Completely agree with that. And Yeovil feels like the countdown to Christmas rather then the wait for the dentist.
I want to be good, is that not enough.
Re: 2024 / 2025 - Stats & Run in Spreadsheet
We might be in a nice position where ourselves and Fylde both require a point. We can then have a little gentlemens agreement with them. Be poetic justice seeing as thats what relegated us in the first place!Edd1 wrote: ↑02 Mar 2025, 21:14 Looking at the run in what worries me is the last two games of the season especially as they compare to York and Forest Green.

Morecambe going down would be the icing on the cake.Beesting wrote:We might be in a nice position where ourselves and Fylde both require a point. Re: 2024 / 2025 - Stats & Run in Spreadsheet
Think you'd call that an efficient performance with other results going our way - you've just got to love an appreciate this team. I said to my son that I thought tonight might be an interesting one as expected Forest Green and York would drop points - we now want a Forest Green win on Saturday at York.
We need to look after ourselves 1st and put pressure back on them both again.
We hit 79 points last season on game 43 - so are 7 matches ahead.
It's interesting to see the teams that York & Forest Green haven't taken points against that we have - Aldershot have taken points of all the top 5 bar us (with our home game coming up) - Altrincham also (only Forest Green have beaten them) - although the away match will be difficult.

Re: 2024 / 2025 - Stats & Run in Spreadsheet
Spreadsheet updated and attached:-
Still 14 points ahead of last season (although we lost the next equivalent game last year).
Last year we had a good run in last 10 games and took 21 points. If York and Forest Green did similar this year it would mean we only need another 11 points.
Last year we reached previous years points total 7 games earlier. If we take 4 points from the next 2 games then we have reached last years points total 7 games earlier again - consistent improvement by Dean, management team and players

Re: 2024 / 2025 - Stats & Run in Spreadsheet
Updated following the weekend. Now 17 points ahead on last year - Last 8 games last year we managed 5 wins & 3 draws - which would see us crowned Champions on 103 points.
If we match the results of the 8 teams we have left to play to last season it would be 5 wins, 1 draw (Wealdstone) and 2 defeats (Altrincham & Gateshead)
As mentioned before get a point on Saturday and we have achieved last seasons points total with 7 games to spare (same as the season before).

Re: 2024 / 2025 - Stats & Run in Spreadsheet
Great work as usual!
A little suggestion: On the Fixtures Left tab, I would suggest you change the Y-axis scale to 120 as the maximum as that would better show our season-on-season improvement and it’s also impossible to get 200 points in a season!
