If he were playing a mind game it certainly worked last night.

Pretty sure the reason Hinshelwood conceded the title was a mind game. He might as well try it, he has nothing to lose.

1. It might help take the pressure off his own team since their own manager says they can't win the title
2. It might make us get complacent if we think "York have given up, we've already won the title"

There is no downside for him in making the statement. Ultimately, he wants him team to get as many points as possible, just in case we have a meltdown. Equally the bookies odds also suggest it's an acceptance of realism.

While I accept it is very likely that we will win the title, as far as I am concerned, it isn't done until we are more points ahead of York than they can get if they win every remaining game.

I think York's unexpected loss at Braintree followed by our win and going 14 points ahead made us all rather complacent. York's big win last night brought us back to earth. Maybe for the best. I'm back to being concerned about Saturday.

For the players maybe. There is no obligation for fans to be humble. We can dream.

York are a very good team, of course they’re going to win some matches! I think a lot of us thought it likely that they’d drop points last night and are more than usually disappointed that they didn’t.

Think some need to get a grip the league was effectively ended Saturday. York needed to gain ground with us playing our toughest fixture and they lost ground. This rendered their game in hand meaningless. We have 7 games left 4 at home where we’re unbeaten all season. Out of the 7 opponents only one is in the top 10 and they are in free fall. Since the middle of January we have only conceded 2 goals, dropped 2 points and haven’t been behind. Unless your champagne has a best before date in early April there is no need to be concerned.

Not sure we were 'ALL' rather complacent. I wasn't.

Also not brought back down to earth after last night.

One game at a time. It's good.

I thought March looked a tough run of fixtures for us with three bogey sides Oldham, Solihull and Gateshead and others who have taken points off us in recent seasons.

I thought a 12 point haul would be a very decent return. Would be amazing to get full points from.March games

If we do finally drop some points in the next 2 games (which are surely our hardest 2 remaining fixtures based on 1 being our bogey side & I was very impressed with Braintree last week who carried a real threat on another crap pitch), then we'll just have to win it with a touch more pressure in 1 of the final few games. Enjoy the ride!

What an absolutely brilliant post!!
I couldn’t agree more.
The negativity and - dare I say it - insecurity maybe(?) is a bit mind-blowing. We ARE going to do it!
Remember - we are 11 points clear, not 1 point clear!
Chill out, relax and enjoy these matches with this special team as they take us back to League football!

Admire the confidence, and I very much think we will do it but for me it won’t truly be 0 doubt from my end until we’ve mathematically done it.

I'm with you on this one.I have supported the Bees for so long that I know that we never make it easy! However I'm still optimistic but slightly worried about this Saturday against our bogey team! And,allegedly,Gateshead are making a few signings before the Transfer Window shuts at 5pm today.
I love Luisma & really miss his skils!
