Re: Winning the League?!
Just remember the maximum number of points that York can reach. Currently it’s 98, but if they lose their next match it will go down to 95.barnetboy1 wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025, 21:35Phew, thanks for that rudebwoy, I'd thought myself into a vicious circle of numbers.rudebwoyben wrote: ↑30 Mar 2025, 21:25 No, if Fylde beat York and we win our next two matches then we’ll be champions. Personally I think they will keep on winning as they seem to have rediscovered their mojo, which would mean it would be the Eastleigh match for us (as long as we keep on winning).

Yup, clear as a bell now.
Thank F for that.

Re: Winning the League?!
Shame if we have to wait for York's result next week if we do beat Wealdstone - as the club can't even screen their game so will be a case of apps & SSN, unless we all pile around a few dodgy VPNs....
At least the week after it's easier to watch Gateshead v York at 12.30 (hopefully on at the club) before we play Easteigh at 5.30.

Re: Winning the League?!
Hope I'm not tempting fate with this question... but any ideas on when a trophy presentation/celebration would take place?
Obviously 10 years ago we won on the final day so the trophy lift was then. With us hopefully/presumably winning before the Aldershot/Fylde games, what do we think things would look like? If we won it vs Wealdstone, would it be scheduled for the next home game we reckon?
Only asking as whilst I wouldn't miss it for the world, the Aldershot game is on my other halfs birthday & would need me travelling down from Newcastle for it - so it would nice to plan in advance both to save money and put in the ground work to avoid a potential divorce!

Pretty sure chesterfield lifted it the day they won the title. There might be issues with security if we were to win it against Wealdstone but in most cases I believe they’d have it at the stadium ready to be lifted the day we win it.Wunderhill wrote: ↑31 Mar 2025, 12:28 Hope I'm not tempting fate with this question... but any ideas on when a trophy presentation/celebration would take place?

Re: Winning the League?!
It is normally tradition for the trophy to be lifted at the final home game, or away from home on the final day of the season if the title hasn't been confirmed before then.
However, the geniuses in the National League boardroom like doing things the tin pot different way, so it may well be presented to us before the final home game after all (i.e after Eastleigh.)
That indeed did happen last season with Chesterfield, when they lifted the trophy in March.

This would be ideal. I’ve got a clash for the Aldershot game too. Win it vs Wealdstone — or be in a position to win it before/vs Eastleigh — and we can lift the trophy and stop me fretting. Which is obviously the most important thing here.adher36 wrote:It is normally tradition for the trophy to be lifted at the final home game, or away from home on the final day of the season if the title hasn't been confirmed before then.

I think it will be presented at Aldershot even if we win it before. The club would like the bumper crowd this will bring.

You should have waited until yesterday to post this Michael. Great visualisation though!

Re: Winning the League?!
I think Aldershot is more realistic too.
Matches against Eastleigh have often ended in draws, Wealdstone will do their utmost to spoil the party and Braintree have picked up some good results over the season so a win is not guaranteed.

Re: Winning the League?!
Unduly pessimistic. The fact is we’re miles better than any of those three teams and our focus has not wavered one bit. Also, we’ve beaten Eastleigh in our previous two home meetings with them.
