I would say there’s a few of the Braintree players I’d take next year. Miranda, Clamplin and one/both of the Lisbies

I said it before, I reckon York will win all of their remaining games

Re: Braintree (Away) The Braintree No Train Bees Match Thread
We’ve scored more goals than any other club in the top 5 divisions, Stead is on track to being a 20 goals per season striker, Telford has shown he is a capable goal poacher when we are playing on half decent surfaces and Browne is more that capable of combining well with either of them up front. Even if Ndlovu is out for the rest of the season we have plenty of options to cover that eventuality.WhetstoneBee wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 13:38No but we certainly suffered yesterday from our usual problem of only having one centre forward at the club, forcing us to change our entire way of playing if that one player gets injured. I still refuse to believe that there wasn’t anyone we could get on loan to cover for Kabamba and then Ndlovu who would be less effective as a long striker and targetman than someone like Telford, who just clearly cannot play that role. The fact that Ndlovu might be out for a while and we have absolutely no cover (as usual) is the only thing worrying me about the rest of the season.rudebwoyben wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 13:31What an odd post. We’ve hardly suffered from not signing him.

I’m sensing panic here but no need for it (yet).Berlinbee wrote:I said it before, I reckon York will win all of their remaining games
In a perverse way, this almost needed to happen. Yesterday was as close to complacency as you’ll ever see from us - I think we underestimated them and struggled to match their intensity and physicality.
As others have also said, we struggle against pacey sides on boggy pitches (yesterday had more than a hint of Maidenhead away about it).
I trust we won’t see this kind of performance again, until the job is done.

Maybe so, but were only need 8 points, well within our reach. I reckon they will drop points along the way.

We need 2 wins and a draw from 5 games. Our next 2 are at home. We've got this.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!
Re: Braintree (Away) The Braintree No Train Bees Match Thread
It won't necessarily be the case that 2 wins and a draw is enough. Our goal difference is currently better than York but that could change if they win all their remaining games. 8 points definitely does it though.
Re: Braintree (Away) The Braintree No Train Bees Match Thread
Yes, I keep reading here and on social media that our goal difference is ‘like an extra point’. It’s 8 goals better than York’s, but if goal difference comes into it that means York will have won 3 games that we’ve lost/drawn. In itself that’s a minimum 5 goal swing, and like yesterday they are likely to win some games by more than 1 goal!
Fortunately I’m confident that regardless of what York do we’ll get the results we need, probably with 2 or 3 games to spare, and it won’t be an issue. But it’s definitely not true that our goal difference is like an extra point!

Obviously none of us wanted to lose but having not lost a league game since October we can't have to many complaints, Our on the day performance though was awful but credit to Braintree who deserved to win.
First time in a while watching us when we did not look imortal at the back.

Surely people aren't actually worried. We have two games at home against mediocre teams at best which we will likely win before we have 3 games against teams with nothing to play for (Fylde will be down by the last game)... I stand by it, we win the league on Good Friday as York will drop points at an improved Gateshead team.

Not worried, but somewhat sobering that the gap could be just 2 points before we play Eastleigh if we lose to Wealdstone.WestHampsteadBee wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 17:32 Surely people aren't actually worried. Yeah, that’s definitely a good way of looking at it. The sooner we get Ndlovu and Kanu back, the better.WestHampsteadBee wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 17:32 Surely people aren't actually worried. Re: Braintree (Away) The Braintree No Train Bees Match Thread
We obviously should win it from here, and it’s set up nicely now if we do go and beat Wealdstone to potentially win it against Eastleigh but stranger things have happened than us going and dropping points next weekend. Then it’s squeaky bum time if York take max points from their next two.WestHampsteadBee wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 17:32 Surely people aren't actually worried. Re: Braintree (Away) The Braintree No Train Bees Match Thread
Really poor display but I think a lot of it was down to just how bad the pitch was. Sort of pitch that needed a big no9 upfront....unfortunately with the players available we tried to walk the ball in and that's almost impossible on a pitch as dry/bumpy as that one.
No reason to panic, win our next 2 at home (on our carpet of
A pitch) and it's basically done.
Need a really positive Hive next Saturday.
