I’m sure they’ll both find NL clubs. I wouldn’t be surprised if Francis resigns for Braintree, though they couldn’t afford a fee
I reckon if we stayed in the NL then they would have been kept on but it was probably decided by the MGT team that moving up a division with aspirations for another promotion was a step too far for them both.
Perhaps. On reflection I think it may be that may be true for Wilkinson and that for Francis it may be a not seeing eye to eye with Deano/attitude problem

The retained list is excellent. Can’t argue with very much.

Happy with those under contract, younger ones will get loan time

Good news re the ones with options

Not fussed on Wilkinson, Kizzi or Francis. Really don’t feel like either are a loss to us, but equally if they’d have stayed I wouldn’t mind.

Think ade will sign a deal and Kanu and collinge are off; best wishes to them if so

My question personally would be offering deals to Cropper and Clifford. Think we could upgrade in those positions.

The released are all fair enough- I loved watching chapman but the injuries caught up with him.

Fully trust DB and the team to nail the recruitment. Evans first, Hobson too, then add a few more in. Wingbacks look like the area we need to strengthen imminently

Cambridge United have released their retained list. One name, set to move on, that standscout for me is Paul Digby, a centre mid with bags of experience and still only 30.
They have also released Brandon Njoku, a 20-year-old striker, who hails from Wembley. Could be worth a look on trial.

Bring Coker back. I’m still surprised by this one. It doesn’t feel right, somehow, letting an experienced head and key part of our success go. In terms of appearances (31 this season), staying match fit, contribution and character/leadership around both the players and club, he did a great job.

Last year did feel like every day or so there was a signing.

Don't expect quite the volume this year but would put the spread at 8.5 - 9.5.
I want to be good, is that not enough.

Coker is 35 this summer, I'm not saying he couldn't manage a season at League 2, but maybe DB has other irons in the fire.

I very much doubt he's been let go without a replacement lined up

I thought it was his decision to move on.
Clearly he's happy enough with the decision seeing as he's one of three players to get a Bee Tattoo on a group holiday in Ibiza.

It just get the feeling, given how quickly the decision came about, we could have done/offered more to keep him.

But why? We have to be ruthless. Love Coker but NL is his level now.

I just think it would have been great to have him for another year as we transition back to L2. Anyhow, decision made! Will be interesting to see who comes in.

Coker admits that he was going to play fewer minutes, so that would appear to mean a replacement is on the horizon.

Think Coker might be off to Eastbourne, just a hunch.
