Fylde (Away) The Frack From The Pub Match Thread

Post: # 396334Post Bee_Forever »

So..... Monday sees the bees travel to the district of Fylde as we take on Kirkham and Wesham's finest in our Bananarama finale. It will be a sad day and a cruel summer as I try to come up with a humourous nickname for the SkyBet EFL but these are the sacrifices you make from supporting the CHAMPIONS Drink2:

AFC Fylde's ambitions of league football seem a long way away after their relegation to Conference North and one point from their last 6 games suggests they have given up on the league in the same way as their owner David Haythornthwaite has given up digging for oil.

With the players still recovering from the promotion party and a few bees fans spending the weekend on the Costa Del Blackpool this definitely has an end of term feel to it and I am grateful to the Supporters Association for running a coach to this one with the Percy Bus now on the scrap heap and no trains out of Euston all weekend.

Although our title reign was secured vs Jack Barham's aldershot (I would say it was all but done vs Sutton) there remain some fascinating sub plots, including the Playoff Eliminator Eliminator between Southend and Gateshead, and the battle for survival, with Wealdstone needing to beat Halifax and rely on a favour from Laurie Walker and their fellow manager Neil Taylor. For me it would be incredibly funny to see Wealdstone go down in the same season we go up so I hope that Laurie does not trouble himself too much vs Dagenham.

For Barnet the target of 100 points is very much in sight as long as our players are able to see one ball rather than two through the post party haze, and with a week's break it will be interesting to see if Deano gives the champion team a run out or if he gives games to players who he knows will not be joining us in league 2. i think we should rotate in this one and allow our champions to rest on their laurels a bit so:-

----------------------------------------Evans-------------------------------------

-----------------Grimwood-----------Oluwu---------------Coker--------------

---Cropper-----------------Clifford---------Shelton---------Hall-Johnson---

-------------------------Francis--------------Chapman--------------------------

------------------------------------Telford-----------------------------------------

Subs: Bellagambi, Rye, Hartigan, Collinge, Brunt, Glover, Browne

I am looking forward to a chilled out finish to the season celebrating our champions and hopefully a win to top off the season.

Is Brunt on the bench so he can orchestrate the party in the stands from there?! No way he's stopped yet!

I think he'll pick the strongest available line up. He really wants that 100+ points to be cemented in history. Subs on once the scoreline is safe.

I expect a strong starting line up like others have said Dean and the players really want to achieve the 100 points as it will go down as first time in clubs history.

For us slackers who can't commit to the trip up north, is anywhere showing the game locally? Would be good to watch the game in the company of a few fellow fans.

Wonder if 100 goals is unsaid target. Would need to be 6 goals+ but the way we have performed this season anything can happen

The Railway Tavern normally will have the game on. Maybe the Club will have it on as well.

If not there should be commentary here,

As advised on another thread, I've signed up to a months DAZN and will cancel. Means can watch tomorrow's match, the full Aldershot celebrations, the play off games and may even re-live the York game.

The players and fans look to be having a brilliant time already this weekend as they should. I think we'll put in a professional performance and get the point, at least, we're after. Regardless I'm sure the celebrations will continue! I still can't stop thinking about Saturday. Enjoy all, wish I could be there but looks like we'll have a very good turnout.

I understand the club are looking for volunteers to play as the team are all still in bed with severe hangovers from last nights partying!

After last night. If we even manage to field 11 players I will be shocked.
