After the issues I had ( page 9/10 of this thread), I'm pleased to say everything worked perfectly on renewal date 2nd July.

Far as I'm concerned, if mine came good in the end, then nobody else needs to worry - but everybody does need to check just to be certain.

if you check my current automatic renewals in your account, if it has renewed it will show a July 26 expiry date.

From the Dag and Red forum -

"Each season ticket holder will be emailed a ticket a few days before each game. I have been told, by a person who has purchased more than one, that if as a family you paid for more than one season ticket, the email will go to the person who paid for the season tickets.

I have described this to the club as a logistical nightmare.
Basically, we are all going to get 23 emails instead of 1 plastic card. I can’t see how this is sustainable for the club, even if the emails are automatic.
it’s like saying, we’ve got your money but we’re not going to give you access to games unless you log into your email (or have access to the person’s email who bought your season tickets).

A hugely backward step which disrespects the people who pay the club money.

You can request a plastic card if you wish."

Sounds like the kind of rubbish Barnet would come up with!

Rightly or wrongly, it's the way the world is going. We used to have season ticket books with numbers, emblems and embossing on each page to prove authenticity. Now it can be done with a free black and white QR code displayed on literally anything.

The world is going in the direction of people being emailed 23 times with a different ticket for each game? Not sure any other club is doing that?

In football not yet, but it's not at all uncommon elsewhere.

Really? What other sports split season tickets into individual games and sent out individually over the course of the year? Makes no sense to me. What is the benefit?

So does this mean that if you have more than one ST holder under your name, you as the main name will receive the email covering every name?

We have all 3 of our ST's paid for via my account, purely for simplicity ( they reimburse me). This system would mean I'd get the email, they wouldn't so I'd have to forward the email on to them before every match so that they could get into the match. I can't imagine that would ever be a problem but it's something which seems wholly superfluous when our current system allows for us all to have our individual STs in our wallets

Many PL clubs do this. New season ticket QR codes are issued a few days/a week before each fixture. A quick Google suggests Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd to name a few. Physical season tickets aren't really a thing.

I guess one of the benefits is your season ticket can't be easily stolen. Unlike at Barnet, someone could potentially photograph your QR code and have unlimited use of your ST.

Ah, I thought you said it wasnt in football but in other sports. A quick google search confirms that they aren't emailed out separately though. Instead they are automatically generated in an app - like gig tickets do in DICE - which is slightly different to emailing out new tickets every week.

If someone at Barnet took my QR code, it would be pretty obvious what had happened quite soon and I wouldn't be able to get in, and I would get a new QR code pretty quickly which would render my old QR code useless and the culprit would be identified on the cameras at the turnstiles. Surely that is easier for the club to manage than investing in an app or emailing me (and about 1000 others) 23 tickets each season.

When they made the first announcement regarding season tickets for the forthcoming season my account did not say that my ticket would be auto renewed so I went to the Hive and was assured that it would auto renew. I’m currently on holiday and luckily a friend messaged me to say that my seat was available to buy. I’ve now bought my own seat to stop anyone else getting it.

I think they should just give up with this auto renew business, announce the season tickets earlier, and give everyone four weeks to secure their old seat. It is what every other club does.
