Pre Season Friendlies 2025

Post: # 396933Post John Hunt »

Always look forward to these.

I have signatures somewhere of a Barnet team playing in the Channel Islands including Lester Finch one Easter.

Guernsey 🇬🇬 and Jersey 🇯🇪 would be good but unlikely.

I wonder how we would fare against League Of Ireland sides who play summertime. Dean Brennan said he didn't really have an Irish team but if he did it would be St. Patrick's.

I expect Wingate & Finchley, Boreham Wood, Hitchin, MK Dons maybe even Braintree with the ties we seemingly have with them. Curzon Ashton? Then Watford, Spurs XI or Palace for a bit of a competitive test.

Would love to see us do something more exotic though

Unlikely to have MK Dons now as they are in our division. But I expect there will be a Posh friendly which gives us L1 opposition. In thd same vein, Stevenage would also see a reasonable pre-season crowd and a decent test.

We have played Ipswich in the past as well. Would be good to see Jack Taylor in action again after brief exposure to PL football.

Not fussed about going to Boringwood any more. Hitchin would he good as it's just down the road for me.
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!

I’d say League of Ireland sides are about League 2 standard and they are improving as well.

I hear we have Borehamwood on the last Saturday in July.

Rumours at playing Liverpool and Stevenage as well.

I recall the post put out by Borehamwood congratulating us on being Champions, before it was taken down presumably for being premature, did include a comment about seeing us in July.

Would also depend when we have to play the preliminary League Cup match. Until we know whether it's definitely happening and the date ( i.e. late July or first midweek in August) then the club can't finalise plans.

How about a home friendly with Crystal Palace. Both clubs can show off the silverware we've won.

Well, we have had 7 PSFs v Crystal Palace, last one 2 years ago -so I suppose it wouldn't really be a huge surprise if we did again.

Obviously too late for this summer but should try and organise a friendly next summer away at Telstar.
