League 2 Rivals
League 2 Rivals
Franchise are reportedly signing Bolton forward Aaron Collins for £850,000!
Will Davies has joined Fleetwood from Sutton for a large fee.
Very happy with our team but we obviously need a few additions which I’m confident we will do. I had thought we had a chance of auto promotion if we get the right players in, but seeing some of the spending going on I’m thinking the play offs would be a more realistic aim.

I think a more realistic aim is to improve as the season goes on and secure a comfortable mid table, or slightly above, position. After 2 seasons of winning loads of games in the NL we fans need to understand thst L2 will be a lot tougher. While optimism is good anybody expecting promotion or playoffs may be disappointed.Bee1972 wrote: ↑17 Jun 2025, 15:26 Franchise are reportedly signing Bolton forward Aaron Collins for £850,000!

Re: League 2 Rivals
We’ve competed against far higher budgets than we possess over the last few seasons, maybe not to the extent of spending a million quid on a striker however. What we have that MK don’t is the togetherness that’s been built over the last 4 years with Brennan at the helm. If we finish mid table no one will be upset, but I honestly believe we can make a proper push for play offs. Both Notts and chesterfield came up and conceded a lot more goals than they did in the NL. With our defensive additions I’d back us to be solid in that department, so it’s more a case of continuing to score at a good rate. Hopefully get a striker who can run off the back of a defence, another number 10 and 8/6, a wing back and a couple of GKs and we’re in a nice position to start the season.Bee1972 wrote: ↑17 Jun 2025, 15:26 Franchise are reportedly signing Bolton forward Aaron Collins for £850,000!

Understand Dobra is on £5k pw at Chesterfield and Markanday signed "biggest contract Chesterfield have ever given" to re-sign with them.
In real terms that £260k per season for Dobra and Christ only knows how much for Markanday.
That;s a LOT of money.

That is crazy money! Shows what we’re up against, although it backfired at Carlisle, it doesn’t always guarantee success.Jimbokav1971 wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025, 10:10 Understand Dobra is on £5k pw at Chesterfield and Markanday signed "biggest contract Chesterfield have ever given" to re-sign with them.

Markanday was a local boy too, grew up in Barnet.
Pretty middle-class for a footballer though, he went to Haverdasher Aske’s school!

It's amazing how many footballers you see now that have come through at other clubs but who were born in and around Barnet.rudebwoyben wrote: ↑18 Jun 2025, 10:21 Markanday was a local boy too, grew up in Barnet.

Re: League 2 Rivals
I have every confidence that an in form Danny Collinge and Nik Tavares could handle any £850,000 striker and that a sublime Antony Hartigan cross on to the head of Oli Hawkins can surpass the head of a £850,000 defender

Danny Cashman has signed for Crawley. No surprise seeing that it's his hometown club, but I think he would've been a player who was on Dean's radar.

Not so great off the ball.
I don't think he's a Brennan player at all.

I get the impression that he's the type of player Dean could nurture and develop. He certainly knows where the net is.Jimbokav1971 wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025, 20:56Great player on the ball.Norfolkbee110 wrote: ↑19 Jun 2025, 20:25 Danny Cashman has signed for Crawley.
