So..... tomorrow sees the bees kick off their preseason in front of fans as we travel a short distance up the A1 to take on Hitchin Town.

Hitchin has become a favourite pre-season spot for Barnet in recent years. Who can forget the debut of one Tyrone Duffus in one of our doom laden seasons. It is also a short hop from letchworth which will at least mean one of our regular fans Chris Emery will not have a long distance to travel.

In terms of the team lineup expect to see two sides of 45 at this early stage but not sure if it will be a mixed team or a strong team followed by squad and trialists.

Everyone will get 45 minutes I would have thought, so it’s probably immaterial whether Hawkins gets it from the start or from half time. Expect Browne will play as the no.9, or the closest thing we’ll have to a number 9, in the first 45 before being withdrawn along with everyone else.
