Hemel Hempstead (Away) The Sunny and Cheer Match Thread

Post: # 399810Post Bee_Forever »

So....... Saturday sees the bees heading to unfamiiar ground  as Deano once again does his old club a favour by sending the Bees round the magic roundabout to the Vauxhall Stadium.

Sonny and Cher sung "I've got you babe" and it became the theme song to Groundhog Day as Bill Murray woke up in a recurring nightmare in a small town with no future. In previous seasons we have played Hemel so much it has felt the same way as we struggled to lift ourselves out of the national league, however this time we return as conquering heroes and I am sure it will be a special experience for Deano to bring his champions to HIemel.

Hemel is notable for a small car park, a long walk up from the station and for the fact it will inevitably be roasting hot whenever Barnet play there. It also featured one of our young fans insisting on wearing a blue puffer jacket which he was immensely proud of and ending up resembling a beetroot by full time.

Hemel will be hoping for a good season and have strengthened their ranks by adding Finley Wilkinson to their ranks. For Barnet the absence of Stead at Hitchin was a worry and with Ndlovu out with a broken foot the lack of strikers is a bit of a worry.

Subs: Everyone else and the Rialist family.

I am giving this one a miss as I save the pennies following my Honeymoon. Doubtless that will get me grief from a certain corner of Portugal but those are the breaks.

My annuel pre season match. Always good afternoon, lovely people, good set up, nice bar and outside seating. Always enjoy it

Nice easy one this & for a good cause.

Shame the weather for the weekend looks a bit iffy, especially for the community day. Hopefully the rain holds off.

This will be our 4th successive PSF at Hemel but the first time I've actually got there. Think I've previously been on holiday or busy previous years, looking forward to a new ground.

It's blurry so I'm not sure, but it's him in the kit launch vid isn't it?

[Edit]

Actually, just looked again and it's not.

The silence is deafening! But not looking good. Hope I’m wrong.

The longer the silence the more confident I become of keeping him. If he’s not at the fun day Sunday, he’s definitely off.

It is clear that Stead is on his way out, if not this week but very soon. Otherwise DB would have said something.

So....with 4 weeks to go to the start of the season we have no strikers (Browne maybe) and no inkling that one or two are about to sign.
