Underhill Photo Memories
Re: Underhill Photo Memories
Reckless, exactly when was the TV/camera box added above the East Stand?
Re: Underhill Photo Memories
The TV gantry was only a very recent addition to the ground during our last stint in the Conference, I believe?
Barnet showing all the flair of Rupert-the-Bears trousers, but lots more style!
Re: Underhill Photo Memories
Does anyone recall the ball ever entering the TV gantry? At speed perhaps?

I do, it was the one thing I would have liked as a souvenir from Underhill.
I wonder where they went.

Not just another picture of Sir Nick parting the defence like Moses parted the waves but I would have loved one of those speakers that use to live on the main stand too!

Re: Underhill Photo Memories
That match was a bit of a case of daylight robbery by Merthyr. We had about 20 corners that day and numerous shots but were caught out by some sucker punches and a brilliantly taken (but dodgily awarded) free-kick.
Re: Underhill Photo Memories
That was back in the days when there used to be a couple of steps at the front of the main stand for standing on. Once we joined the league in 1991 they were taken away.
Does anyone have any pictures of the old family stand as a terrace before the seats were bolted on?

Check out the fantastic (well, for nerds like me!) twitter feed of Groundtastic magazine's editor Vince Taylor. Tonight he's tweeting photos of Underhill, and in the first of the two he's posted so far you can see the covered terrace in the south-west corner, beyond the main stand.ninestein wrote:That was back in the days when there used to be a couple of steps at the front of the main stand for standing on. Yea, camera used to be in the main stand with a restricted view of the NW terrace corner.ninestein wrote:The TV gantry was only a very recent addition to the ground during our last stint in the Conference, I believe?
