"Arrival at the Forum"

Post: # 397212Post The Frenchie »

Hi everyone,

On my arrival on this forum, I'd first of all like to thank those (in particular Mike, who helped me to open an account) who came up with the idea. It's an excellent link for people like me who live far away. It keeps you up to date with what's going on. I regret that the club's communications department doesn't make too much of an effort when you get in touch with them. I hope that in the future a stronger link will be created between the two parties. I'd also like to take this opportunity to apologise for my poor English, despite having a dictionary.

If you look only at the final rankings, you'll think it's been an easy season. But I don't think so. For a long time, the club was followed by Forest Green (hardly surprising) but above all by York (more unexpected). In the first few league games, some unfavourable refereeing decisions left me fearing the worst. It started badly and I was worried that those lost points would be lost at the end. Because it was out of the question to go through the play-offs again, at best. Fortunately, the players never gave up and have now been rewarded.

The first step is to follow in the footsteps of Chesterfield and Bromley, who have maintained their League Two status with ease. And if you want to dream a little more, Stockport (on the brink of reaching the play-off final in League One), who were still in the National League three years ago, or better still, Wrexham, but in that case you have to remain reasonable. But let's be crazy.

The Bees left Underhill twelve years ago and this return to League Two must be accompanied by a return home. Everything is being done to ensure that happens, as long as we don't go overboard with things like the number of seats in the new stadium. Some people seem to me to have ideas of grandeur. Let's take things one step at a time. For the time being, a 5,000-seat stadium that can be expanded to meet future needs seems to me to be more than enough, and would perhaps make those who reject this project a little less frightened. I think Mr Kleanthous will do his utmost to ensure that it happens. At the time, he made sure that Barnet FC did not become a nomadic club. Let's trust him for this comeback.

Let's savour this return to League Two for a while longer, before we get a positive and definitive answer for the New Underhill as soon as possible.

Up The Bees !!!
