Quite a drop down for EJ. Not sure if he’s gone part time and/or they are investing heavily.

Of course some were disappointed to see him leave us in 2020. I assumed it was because he was deemed too expensive to keep at the time.

For me he was not quite the same after his injuries but he’d have done a better job than some of those that followed more immediately after.

I was sorry to see him go. Apart from him being a decent player, he was "one of our own" who was with us for 10 years and made 235 appearances. I imagined he left because D&R offered him more money and he fancied a new challenge.

Whilst he's no longer NL level I'd have thought he'd still be better than Northern Premier League Division 1 West - but who knows?

The Daggers fans were very frustrated by EJs performances in last season or so. Was not quite the same player after return from injury - if you lose pace need to be more than just a solid defender to challenge for promotion

Even so, 3 leagues is a big drop.

Dagenham didn’t release Johnson; they were seeking a new deal (under the right terms, and who knows what they were). He was in the same category as Nikola Tavares in their retained list statement: https://www.daggers.co.uk/news/-Nwy8TIsRcJH6yLMaq_z

Steve King is the manager there hence they must have a decent backer as King usually follows goes where money is then runs as soon as it dries up

He looked a shadow of his former self when we played them this season but that’s a big drop

Some serious money being put in at Braintree now it seems.
Yep, they've just signed Jamal Fyfield from Wrexham.

Big backing, they're going full time as far as I am aware, hence EJ's move.
