Re: Ex-Bees (2014 update)
There is a good article in the Colchester Gazette about John Akinde's search for a new club. Apparently there has been quite a lot of interest in him. I wonder if DB has had a quiet chat. He could do worse, but the money would have to be right for both sides.

Bring him on just to take the penalties, at 34 years old he can't be demanding a massive salary. May be another one heading Braintree's way

Re: Ex-Bees (2014 update)
I think he'd rather head back to Barnet than go to Braintree. Wages permitting, he could do one helluva job for us, may be not as a starter, but someone to bring on in the second half to use all his strength and experience to see the game out. I wouldn't bother if he's demanding a king's ransom, but you don't find out unless you ask.northantsbee wrote: ↑18 Jun 2024, 14:58 Bring him on just to take the penalties, at 34 years old he can't be demanding a massive salary. Sorry guys but Big John is completely past it. I'd rather we brought in O'Donkor on loan again

Which, if there has been interest shown in him elsewhere, no way is he going to be interested in.
