And today saw an international match with an ex-Bee on both sides with Louis Annesley and Benjamin Buchel playing in what looks to have been a very tempestuous Gibraltar vs Liechtenstein match!
Think the closest was Matrevics on bench for Latvia v Buchel in goal for Liechtenstein or vice versa.

Actually, it's not the 1st time that 2x Ex Bees had met in an International fixture.

First of all, these 2 had already met previously, (Nov 2022), when GIB ran out 2-0 winners. There was a ruck with about 10 mins to go in that game and Annesley was 1 of about 5 players booked and I think that explains the "tempestuous" nature of the recent match. There had already been a Liechtenstein player sent off before that too.

They had also met before even that though, (Oct 2020), when 9 yellow cards were shown, (Annesley was booked again), and again Gibraltar were the winners.

They had almost met previously Sep 2018 & Oct 2018, but although Buchel played, Annesley was an unused sub on both occasions.

Annesley has previously played against Malta, but Gambin wasn't in the squad.
He's also played against Latvia, (twice), but Matrevics was an unused sub on both occasions.
2x Ex Bees met in an International fixture with Annesley against McQueen when Gibraltar played Grenada in 2022.
Gambin's 1st Cap was in 2016 but I can't see anyone Malta played who might have had an ex Bee in there.

Sam Cox, (& KMB) played for Guyana in 2018, and they played Granada, but I can't see if he or McQueen played in that fixture. They also played Jamaica and I wonder if Jamal Lowe played in that game? There is a Lowe in the Jamaica squad, but I don't actually think it was Jamal because it was too early for him I think.

So according to all that, the 1st Ex Bee v Ex Bee at International level was Annesley v Buchel in Oct 2018.

How about Davids v Breen in 1996?

Pre Bees.
Yeah, had to discard that one and more.

Sagi Burton played against Maik Taylor for Saint Kitts & Nevis v N.Ireland in 2004, but although that was after Maik Taylor's time with us, it was before Sagi Burton's time with us.

The same gord for Andre Boucaud in the same year, (again v Maik Taylor).

If I have missed any I think it's likely to be Cox against someone for Guyana. It's hard to find squad lists for some of those early games.

I listened to his post match interview on Ebbsfleet Twitter. Very impressed, definite manager material once he hangs up his boots.

From the sounds of it, there was a definite improvement in performance by Ebbsfleet last night compared to before and it was much clearer to see the way they were trying to play compared to the previous few matches under Searle.

I don't think there is much a surprise that Wright is decent. The 1st thing he did was drop Tyler Cordner, (who has been poor so far this season), but he also didn't pick himself, (even on the bench), although he also didn't feature on Saturday.

They still lined up in a 442, but it appears to have been a much improved performance and they probably should have won.
