Is this fact? Gutting if so, need stability. Don’t think DB is league ready yet, but has been great for us.

Not sure it is a fact….at least for now. Tom Williams has interviewed DB so I suspect he’s given a nod to the talks and that Barnet are speaking to Swindon, nothing yet to suggest an agreement has been reached from what I can tellCrawleyBee wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 12:22Is this fact? Swindon rumoured to subject to being taken over….big risk for him
Re: DB to Swindon?
If Connor doesn’t go I’d take a punt on him
Re: DB to Swindon?
Unfortunately I think Swindon are a big enough club to tempt him . Whether he does is a different matter

Re: DB to Swindon?
Mel Gwinnett was sacked by Hampton & Richmond after an alarming collapse saw them drop from 2nd to a finish outside the play-offs.
A stand-out candidate in respect of results and profile would be local boy Matt Gray. Sutton’s style of football under him was the polar opposite of our style under Brennan this season, so it may be too drastic a departure in that respect, especially with 12-16 players recruited to play that way continuing with us. We’d no longer need a replacement for Hartigan, mind you!
I thought Gray would be a shoo-in at Boreham Wood had they stayed up. Would’ve been a perfect fit there. But he’ll surely not want to drop down to the NLS.

Not quite as drastic as say if Luke Garrard was approached should a vacancy come up at Barnet.......Tuesds wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 12:47 Mel Gwinnett was sacked by Hampton & Richmond after an alarming collapse saw them drop from 2nd to a finish outside the play-offs.

Re: DB to Swindon?
There is a lot wrong with Swindon in terms of how they are run, it’s a huge gamble, I hope either TK stands strong on compensation and/or DB thinks better of it and decides to say no as he did to us a few years back. At least in TK he knows what he’s getting

Re: DB to Swindon?
Don't think he'll go there. He's had far better offers that he's turned down previously.
Re: DB to Swindon?
There was always going to be interest in him, given the transformation of our club over the past 3 years but a few points to consider. Firstly, DB is big on loyalty - remember he turned us down previously to honour his contract with Wealdstone. Second, he's well in contract which also puts us in a good negotiating position. And third, he's years into a project here which has good upward trajectory and, you would think, an attachment in terms of wanting to finish the job. Of course Swindon would be a big step up league and presumably money wise, bigger than the Wealdstone to Barnet move he turned down in any case. But let's hope these factors sway it.
Re: DB to Swindon?
Would definitely be sideways. He can definitely do better in that he can wait it out for somewhere much more stable if he is wishing to leave.WillesdenBee wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 12:57 Don't think he'll go there. He's had far better offers that he's turned down previously.

Only if he’s either had a bust-up, think he’s taken us as far as we can or the money is stupidWillesdenBee wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 12:57 Don't think he'll go there. He's had far better offers that he's turned down previously.
