Doubt it. Maynard had played a similar style to Luke Williams for his whole time at Wealdstone. Brennan only transitioned into that sort of team this season so not much of a sample size for Notts to go off.becbee wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 15:34What makes you think that he wasn't approached for the Notts Co job first? I have no insider knowledge but it wouldn't surprise me if he had been.PurleyBee wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 14:43 Don't think it can be understated the notts county situation, somehow Dean's former friend now arch enemy bagged that job which must irk him still..... so whether it's Swindon or another league job the timing might be perfect in his personal and professional life plus to have a full transfer window and pre season at a new club to accept a new challenge and give the EFL a go which no doubt he so wished it would be with BFC next season..... Fingers crossed we can keep hold of him.
DB to Swindon?

I think DB can do better at Swindon and I hope TK gives him the backing to make any move moot. He must do whatever is best for himself and family though.

If he went I'd be worried about which players went with him....
Re: DB to Swindon?
I have no inside knowledge and nor did I suggest he hadn't been approached before.... My point is he might now be ready personally and professionally for a new challenge after play off heartbreak, I'm sure he wants to manage in the EFL like Maynard is and he dreamnt it would be with Barnet next season alas it wasn't to be so maybe now is the right time.becbee wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 15:34What makes you think that he wasn't approached for the Notts Co job first? Re: DB to Swindon?
True. But arguably it was the way he set the team up that cost us vs SolihullPurleyBee wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 16:08I have no inside knowledge and nor did I suggest he hadn't been approached before.... Re: DB to Swindon?
Take away Barnet glasses and DB could be a fool for turning it down IF he was offered it.
DB has done an excellent job for us but football is a fickle business, We (well most of us) appreciate what he has done so far but IF we had bad start to the season we all know fans can turn.

The source for that tweet is also in the comments tempering expectations...
Re: DB to Swindon?
Would destroy all the loyalty stuff pretty quick.

Yeah because it’s not 100%. Seems like it’s 90 though.Ajtheone04 wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 19:46 The source for that tweet is also in the comments tempering expectations...
Re: DB to Swindon?
The big thing was agreeing compensation think now it’s only a change of heart after sleeping on it that will save us as would imagine their personal terms will comfortably beat ours.

Compensation definitely agreed. It’s up to Dean now. Whatever he decides, he deserves a go at that level. He’s taken a team on quite frankly, a crap budget, from 18th to 2nd in 2 years. He’s turned down several other clubs and if he feels now is the time then to go then that’s fine. I’m less confident than I was earlier but will see what happens.

Not really, The season is over now all the players are on holidays now.
Loyalty works both way, Tell me honestly IF DB was to stay and next season after say 10 games we had only won 1 game and was in bottom 4 you would not be calling for a change?
Re: DB to Swindon?
I’d trust him to see it out. Managerial appointments have never been our strong point.letchbee94 wrote: ↑10 May 2024, 20:27Not really, The season is over now all the players are on holidays now.
